Description
Alexander Wilson founded Alex Wilson and Company at Vauxhall, London in 1857 to build pumps and marine engines. In 1903 the company built its first car and in 1907 changed its name from Vauxhall Iron Works to Vauxhall Motors. General Motors purchased Vauxhall in 1925. GM sold Vauxhall to Group PSA in 2017, which in turn joined Stellantis in 2021. Vauxhall is the UK’s oldest surviving car brand.
