Description
James Ward Packard and his brother William founded the New York and Ohio Automobile Company in 1899 in Warren, Ohio. In 1902, it was renamed the Packard Motor Car Company in 1902 and moved to Detroit in 1903. In 1964, Packard bought the Studebaker Corporation, and in 1956, Packard production ceased in Detroit. The last Packard by Studebaker Packard Corporation rolled off the assembly line on July 16, 1958.
